Welcome to the Garden

The garden is a beautiful and peaceful place established in 2015 for people to enjoy either by joining us as a volunteer or a visitor.

A sheltered walled garden on the site of an old brewery with the original well in situ. The garden had a spell as a tree nursery and has also been a much loved domestic garden.

It is now a flourishing garden with health, well being and activities that bring people together at its core. We encourage people to visit, spend time in the garden and buy plants.

We have toilet facilities and a garden room, all of which is wheelchair accessible.

If you can volunteer some time to help with weeding, watering, planting or encouraging or supporting others then we would love to hear from you. No matter how much or how little time or knowledge you have you will be very welcome. The garden is wheelchair accessible.

Volunteer with Us

Forfar Open Garden is a therapeutic garden nestled beside Forfar Loch Country Park in its own walled garden. It is open to all and also by referral. It has many skilled gardeners working hard to make it a peaceful place to garden, either on a drop in basis by yourself or as part of regular volunteer days. The group sells plants and welcomes people to just sit and enjoy too.
